The R.E.A.L.™ Method for Winning on Live
Live Sell Academy
Built from three decades training, producing and directing live sellers at QVC, and adapted for TikTok Shop and live social commerce today.
Let’s Get Into It
You’re Not a Live Seller, You’re a TikTok Shop Presenter
This is live selling presenter training in written form, built to help you perform on camera and convert in real time.
TikTok Shop doesn’t reward noise or improvisation. It rewards presentation.
The moment you go live, your role changes. You’re no longer just showing a product, you’re holding attention, setting the tone, and guiding decisions in real time.
You are the face of the brand in that moment. In live commerce, moments are what people remember.
This Playbook will show you how to:
Show up with on-screen presence that stops the scroll
Connect authentically so viewers engage with you
Use stories instead of specs to make products click
Remove hesitation so “Add to Cart” feels obvious
This is our R.E.A.L.™ Method that we use to train TikTok presenters and Affiliate Sellers across the UK. It’s how you progress from just “going live” to being the presenter that brands want to rebook again and again..
If you present products live, this is for you.
We specialise in live selling presenter training and performance coaching. and this Playbook is part of our presenter training offering, designed for live selling presenters who want stronger on-screen delivery and better livestream performance on TikTok, Tilt, Whatnot and eBay Live.
So, if you’re:
A TikTok Shop presenter (new or experienced) ready to level up
An Affiliate Seller stepping into live video commerce and collab opportunities
The face of your brand, or new to live selling and aiming to improve real metrics
Focused on improving ERR, CTR, AVD & GMV through better on-screen delivery
…then this FREE Playbook is for you, so keep on reading!
The Presenter’s Mindset
You’re Not Selling a Product, You’re Selling a Moment
On any Live Social Commerce platform, products don’t sell themselves - people do
The strongest TikTok presenters understand how attention behaves in real time. They know how to hold the room, even when comments slow or numbers dip.
This doesn’t happen by accident, because it’s trained
As a TikTok Shop presenter, successful performance boils down to:
How you show up in the first 30 minutes you are live
How you keep people watching as momentum rises and falls (AVD matters!)
How you guide attention into action (CTR and GMV rise when your delivery is on point)
How you handle objections, silence, or glitches with calm confidence
Presenters Who Perform… Succeed
Every high-performing presenter we coach knows this:
It’s not just about what you sell, it’s how you present
That’s why we built the R.E.A.L.™ Method: a 4-part framework based on 30 years of QVC-level live selling experience, adapted for Live Social Commerce
You’re in the right place if:
You’re ready to turn followers into customers
You want brand deals that come to you because of how well you perform on Lives
You’re tired of feeling unsure, awkward, or underprepared in front of the camera
You want to start tracking and improving the metrics that matter: ERR, CTR, AVD, GMV
Remember, this isn’t a Playbook for “TikTok hacks”, it’s about becoming a confident, consistent, high-performing presenter. You can read our Blog series here

Frequently Asked Questions
(and Answers!)
-
It’s training that helps you perform on camera and on screen, not just talk about a product.
When you go live, you’re not “selling” in the traditional sense. You’re presenting. You’re holding attention, guiding the room, and making it easy for people to buy without feeling pushed.
Live selling presenter training focuses on the skills that actually move results:
On-screen presence that stops the scroll
Storytelling that makes the product land
Product demos that feel natural and believable
Live control: pacing, flow, comments, energy
Confidence, clarity and consistency, show after show
If you’ve ever finished a Live thinking “I said loads but nothing really happened”, this is the missing piece.
-
You keep viewers by giving them a reason to stay every 10 to 20 seconds.
Most Lives lose people for two reasons:
The opening is slow
The middle has no structure
Here’s what works in real life, not theory:
Start with a moment, not an introduction. The first 15 seconds should create curiosity.
Say what’s happening and what they’ll get. Viewers stay when there’s a clear promise.
Run a simple loop. Hook → demo → story → proof → CTA → reset the room.
Talk to the silent majority. Don’t just perform for the commenters.
Keep moving. Energy doesn’t mean loud, it means momentum.
Retention is rarely about “better products”. It’s usually about better presenting.
-
Confidence comes from control, and control comes from preparation.
Most people try to “be confident” by forcing energy. That’s exhausting and it doesn’t last.
What we teach instead:
Know your first 2 minutes cold. If the start is solid, your whole Live settles.
Use a simple structure, not a script. You want freedom, not memorised lines.
Anchor your hands, your pace and your voice. Calm is magnetic on Live.
Practice product phrases out loud. The mouth has to get used to the words.
Build proof through repetition. Confidence isn’t a mindset trick, it’s trained.
You don’t need to become a different person. You need a method that lets you show up as your best self. Still you, but BETTER!
-
We watch your Live properly, like a producer and coach, and then we show you what’s working and exactly what to change.
This isn’t vague feedback like “be more engaging”. It’s specific, actionable and tailored to how you present.
Typically we cover:
Your opening: what’s working, what’s losing people, how to tighten it
Viewer retention: where drop-off happens and how to fix the flow
Product demos: what to show, what to say, and how to build belief fast
Storytelling and structure: how to make the Live feel organised and easy to follow
Conversion moments: your CTAs, your pacing, your “buying signals”
Your presenter habits: voice, presence, confidence, and what to refine
You leave with a clear plan and a set of changes you can implement on your very next Live.
-
Yes, because the platform changes, but human attention doesn’t.
The buttons might move around, the features might be different, but the presenter skills that drive performance stay the same:
How you open
How you hold attention
How you demo
How you guide decisions
How you create trust quickly
If you can present well on one platform, you can adapt to another. That’s why I teach presenter fundamentals that travel, not “hacks” that expire.
-
Engagement and conversion improve when your Live feels like a real experience, not a product monologue.
Here’s the simplest way we can put it:
Engagement rises when people feel seen. Ask better questions, respond with intention, and lead the room.
Conversions rise when the product feels obvious. Clear demo, clear benefit, clear proof, clear next step.
Both rise when your Live has structure. People buy when they trust the presenter is in control.
What we look for when coaching is:
Are you creating moments that earn attention?
Are you making the product easy to understand in seconds?
Are you removing hesitation with reassurance, proof and clarity?
Are you giving viewers a reason to act now without being pushy?
That’s the difference between “going live” and running a Live that performs.
-
We teach people to stop thinking of a Live as “chatting while selling” and start treating it like a simple show format.
Here’s a structure that works on TikTok Shop and anywhere else you sell live:
Cold Open (10–20 seconds): start with the product in-hand and a clear promise. No long intro.
Set the Room (20–40 seconds): who it’s for, what problem it solves, what you’re doing today (and what to tap/buy).
The Selling Loop (repeat every few minutes):
Hook → Demo → Story → Proof → Offer/CTA → Reset
This is how you keep new viewers catching up without boring the ones already there.Moments, not monologues: build in mini “events” like a comparison, a top 3 benefits, a quick objection answer, or a real use-case.
Close and reset regularly: don’t save the “how to buy” until the end. Assume new people are arriving constantly.
If your Live feels messy, it’s usually not your personality, it’s the lack of a repeatable structure.
-
Your first 30 seconds has one job: earn attention and give people a reason to stay.
Here’s a simple formula you can use almost word-for-word:
What it is (show it): “This is the one I’ve been asked about all week.”
Why it matters (benefit): “If you want ___, this solves it in seconds.”
Who it’s for: “This is perfect for anyone who ___.”
What to do next (CTA): “Tap the pinned product and I’ll demo it properly now.”
And the key: start with the product, not your name.
You can introduce yourself later. In the opening, you’re building curiosity, clarity, and momentum.
